A long time ago....
Well, almost a year ago,
Pastor Karl said all he wanted
for Christmas the new Star Wars
Imperial Star Destroyer Lego Kit. It
was the largest Lego kit in the history of the
galaxy, spanning over three feet and containing
over three thousands pieces. Karl's family all pitched
in and got this great gift for Karl... but it was to sit in the
giant menacing box for almost a year.  That is, until the next
Christmas came around and now Pastor Karl said all he wanted
for Christmas was the new Lego AT-AT Walker, but his loving and
patient wife said, "You aren't getting another Lego kit until you put that
giant Star Destroyer together that everyone pitched in to buy for you!" So
Pastor Karl spent his Thanksgiving break with his fellow Jedi Ryan Yoder, and
together with the power of the Force (and a 225 page instruction manual) finally put
an end to the menacing box and the torments of relatives and friends and once again the
galaxy is at peace, with Pastor Karl's Giant Star Destroyer on the patrol to protect the universe.

THE PREQUEL (Last Year)

THE SAGA CONTINUES..... (This Year)

THANKSGIVING DAY, a full tummy, a pile of Lego (3104 pieces)
and a massive instruction manual (227 pages)

How to begin such a daunting task!

Get a good friend to do it with you! Ryan Yoder!!

Nothing makes sense at the beginning....

Starting to look a little like a Star Destroyer.

I can see it now, flying through space under my command!

Don't mess with me! I have a Star Destroyer... well, almost.

Still more pieces on the table than on the ship, but at least the main frame is done!

DAY TWO
Back home, organized, and ready to conquer!

Good help is hard to find, but Ryan was an awesome helper!

Instructions in hand, we are ready to go!

Hmmm, strange and mysterious this mystery is. Meditate on this I will.

AH! Rocker Boosters!  Starting to look coooool!

The secret to our thirteen hours of focused brain activity!

Ryan was Mr. Organized! While Karl assembled, Ryan organized
all the pieces into labeled stacks and cups.

Starting to look a little more like the picture....

Meditating.... "Lord lead me to where this piece goes..."

Darth Vader approves of the progress.
(notice it is getting dark outside)

Finally putting the fourth panel on!

Amazingly delicate - two panels on top, and two on the bottom.
It is all held together by a few magnets and small pieces.
Balance in the Force was much needed!

Finally, the entire base is done, but only half way through the book!

What is this??? We don't see this in the picture!  Infrastructure - not fun!

Ahhhh, ok, starting to make sense.

So many pieces, so little time!

Nothing bonds a friendship like a massive Lego kit....
(I hope)

Putting the Tower on!!!

Fine tuning.... LOTS of fine tuning!

Where does this go?  The rebels will find our weakness!

Thumbs up! ALL DONE!

THE DARK SIDE RULES!

The men behind the masks!

We have finished the task the Lord gave us to do!

pssssst..... now I can get the Lego AT-AT!
