Luke, by popular demand!

And now for our greatest source of joy in life…. Baby Luke! By popular demand, here are some recent pictures of our little boy. Enjoy! Mr. Smiles greets every day enthusiastically! Luke newest feat…. sucking on his feet! Yech! Must have been some lint between my toes! Daddy likes to torture me with poses HE thinks are funny. I’d be cute even if I was a girl, or a Bible character! Daddy let me listen to a little of Star Wars Clone Wars on his video iPod! Now the video iPod is MINE! MINE! MINE! What’s better than one of me? FIVE of me!! Hey! This is MY DEW!! Git yer own!! YYYYYEAH! DO THE DEW! Cowabunga DEWd! Please continue to pray for Luke’s adoption proceedings. We’ve now had Luke for over five months and as you can see, we’re crazy about him! The adoption is not yet final, and while there are some good signs, there are also some significant needs for prayer this month, so please lift this little guy up in your prayers! Luke appreciates it! (and we do too!)

I hate spiders…

I hate spiders. Well, ok. Maybe I don’t HATE them, but I am scared of them…. but fascinated at the same time. Even as a boy, I liked spiders best IN BOOKS! In real life… they creep me out. And yet… I am drawn to them. I will trap them instead of kill them. I kept a HUGE spider in a container in my office until it died in a fierce pose, and it took it months to die. (Kids checked on it each week to see if it was still alive, it was caught by a GIRL in Awana!) I had a HUGE funnel spider on my porch last week, and I was sad when I killed it… I was trying to draw it out with a stick and accidently gave it a mortal wound. Had the dumb thing just come out, it would have survived! But I’m happy to say a new one, even bigger has moved in! But I’ve yet to get him to come out for and pose for a picture. But below are some pictures of two resident spiders, one in the front yard, and one from the back yard. Do I dare say enjoy??…

Happy Six Months Luke!

HAPPY SIX MONTHS LUKE! Baby Luke is now 6 months old, and to celebrate, he had food for the first time! Luke is all smiles as Sara gives him his first spoonful of rice cereal… Not so sure he likes it… but doesn’t fight it. Mom and Dad aren’t sure how much got into his stomach! Instead of going to a studio or kid-photo place, we decided to try our hand at doing our own Six Month Pictures…. how did we do? Though, we did have a pretty cute kid to work with! Ooooooo… this is soft!Winter styles… Just chillin… Hi, I’m Luke! You can’t help love me, can you? Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee DAD’S FAVORITE: Bombs Away on Mom! Every day with this baby is a joy and a delight. I’ not sure how I survived not being a dad. I was made for this. People ask me often how I am adjusting to being a Dad, and I answer, “I always was adjusted, I just lacked the kid.” Probably doesn’t make any sense to most, but I feel like there is no adjustment… its the way it’s supposed to have been, and finally having a kid just feels so right. I’m…

Beautiful evening for a bike ride….

I have gotten the spider webs and dust off of my recumbent and after a tune-up, and getting back into using it as my excerisize bike. I’m hoping to put a few hundred miles on it this summer after a few years of slacking off. Went for an evening ride this week…. and it was beautiful… Unaltered photo taken at 20mph on the Millennium Trail near my house. They just completed this segment of the trail and I plan to soon explore it and figure out where/how far it goes. Slightly altered photo to show the awesome colors of the sky. Reminds me of Psalm 14:1, “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ “ Saw four deer… here are three, and it turns out it is TRUE, deer eyes DO light up! Funny how my camera flash lit up their eyes! They seemed unbothered by the passing bike. A picture of my bike from a few years ago. I LOVE this bike. it has 48 gears, and go up to 60 mph. (though I’ve only been up to 38 mph on mine.) You sit back in the comfy chair can peddle with your feet out in front…

Signs of Spring…

Figures… plan a project to be indoor all day all week, and the weather will be beautiful! There are lots of signs of Spring…. like graffiti! Yes, I came outside in the dark after painting all day and found my car had been vandalized by the youth of the church. Though, you can’t really complain about having “I love Pastor Karl” spralled across your window! Another view of the artwork… Not visible in the glare is an Apple Mac apple. :-) That’s right! It’s a PK Cruiser! (not pt) So it was off to the car wash to get my car all cleaned at my local BP gas station. I was curious if the auto car wash could get the lettering off… It tried really hard, but I still had to hand wash the windows afterward. This was cool, you could read the “PK Cruiser” in the rear view mirror. It is, of course, reversed on the back window reading from the inside, but reversed again when read in the mirror, so what you are actually seeing is double-reversed. I know, I am easily amused! Back to “Signs of Spring.” On my drive in this morning, I had to stop…

WHOA! Check out these trucks!

Just a quick blog post – been too sick to do much other than the essentials, and I’ve got more ‘essentials’ than I need! (probably why I haven’t gotten better in over a week!) but to keep the blog alive, and to cut back on all the ‘when you gonna blog’ emails, here are some amazing photos of some very creative semi-truck paint jobs… I’m impressed! My only suspicion, is that in each picture the street stripes and wall and trees are exactly the same. I thought, well, maybe it is the location where the guy paints them, I mean some people have an interstate in their back yard, don’t they? But in the next one, the background was made to be a blurr as though taken while moving, but the tree and stripes are still exactly the same. HMMMMMM…… So, are these for real or what? I sure hope so, or I will be very disappointed! UPDATE: OK, one of my faithful blog readers just e-mailed me their grandkids on the same truck, with this quote: “Karl…couldn’t resist sending this along to you…that truck sure gets around…this one has our youngest grandson on the back panel and he is…
