You Must Confront Vision!

I often like to give my blog readers “sneak peeks” of things to come over on Kidology.org, and so here I go again. As I mentioned recently, Kidology Online Training is now live, with the first “Leadership Lab” titled (appropriately) First Things First. Well, the second Leadership Lab will be live in only a few days and is titled, Visionary Leadership. I’ll post more about it when it goes live, but due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback on the 100th Toybox Tale, “A Day in the Life of a Children’s Pastor,” – made for adults, rather than Kids, I did it again, bringing back one of the most asked-for characters I (kinda) created, NoDuh, the Wise One. In this, the 101st Toybox Tale, you get to listen in on the private session of a children’s pastor with her counselor… NoDuh, the Wise One, as he gently lets her know, that in order to survive in children’s ministry leadership, She Must Confront Vision! You Must Confront Vision! ENJOY! I’ll let you know when the rest of LAB 02 goes live!

Veggie Pirate Movie – Hits the Treasure!

As “live blogged” in my last post, I was fortunate to be able to attend an advanced screening of the new Veggie Pirate Movie. Since Kidology has volunteered to be a promotional partner (we do not accept paid advertising) I was just a little nervous… what if I don’t like it? (not that this was likely coming from Big Idea, but it’s our first time being an official promotional sponsor, so positivity is kinda assumed.) Well, not only can I rest at ease – you can too! THE MOVIE IS FANTASTIC! And exceeded even my high expectations! Any concerns of it feeling too long (“half an hour” is part of the Veggie theme song!) or missing the mark of appealing to a wide range of ages quickly evaporated. Steve Tanner and I with our shirts we won answering movie trivia at the end! I’m happy to let you know that the movie hit all the marks for me! Great for kids! Humor for adults too Great message MANY teachable points Visually stunning Creative and fast paced With the recent hit of “other other Pirate movies” – I wondered if it would feel like the thrill of pirates had faded. (They…

Kidology Online Training is LIVE!

It’s been the plan since the Kidology website began in 1994 – to provide training for children’s ministry leaders 24/7 anywhere there was access to a computer. We’ve provided training through the thousands of posts in the Zones on the site, conferences like Kid U, Kidology To Go and now Yosemite Summit, and the interactive forum – but now Kidology’s dream is coming true to take training to a whole new level: ONLINE TRAINING that not only trains leaders, but equips them to train others. It is finally here! People used to ask me how I did so much… two full time ministries, writing, speaking, performing, family, etc. Well, for starters… for much of my ministry I was doing too much!! And I was last guy to recognize it… after all, I would say, can you ever be doing too much for God!? (Um, yes!) In the last year, I have learned some life-changing lessons in how to live a healthier, slower paced, balanced life. Family is finally genuinely first. (I say genuinely first because I would have always claimed it was first!) That is why the very first Kidology Online Training Leadership Lab is titled First Things First. If…

I-FEST VIDEO INTERVIEWS

You may remember a few months ago when I went to One Way Street’s I-FEST conference as a Kidology Reporter to check out this event and report on Kidology the status of Puppet Ministry. Well, it took longer than I’d hoped, but the Kidology Report on Puppet Ministry is now live, and features I-FEST as evidence that puppet ministry is alive and well. In addition to the MP3 interview with OWS’s new president, Todd Liebenow, I put together a video of several interviews I did while there, appropriately with puppets – both Gus, my main puppet, and a new little guy I bought while there. (already seen in a post about Puppet Team names interviewing a baby!) It’s nearly 15 minutes long, but it will give you some glimpses into I-FEST as well as show you how I use a puppet to interview people. ENJOY! Your a V.I.P. to R.O.B.

Calling all friends and fans of Rob Biagi and his family. I have a V.I.P. for you today – Very Important Prayer request. Rob’s little girl, Natalie has been diagnosed with Leukemia. The whole family needs your prayers. This is being posted with Rob’s permission. Below is the e-mail that he sent out to his e-mail list, it is worded “kid-friendly” because they have a lot of kids on their e-mail list. In Rob’s words to me, “It’s Leukemia, so – though treatable, it’s absolutely brutal. Still, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah is fiercer!” Rob Biagi wrote: Please Pray for Little NatalieDear friends, family, fellow ministers, and customers, (this email has been written in child-safe language – we have lots of children on our email list…) Our 2 ½-year-old daughter Natalie was admitted to “CHOC” (a Children’s Hospital in Orange, California) a few days ago because her skin looked and felt very different than it usually does. The doctors at CHOC did lots of tests, and found out that Natalie is very sick. She doesn’t look really sick right now, and she doesn’t sound really sick, but her body has a very bad sickness growing in it. Little…
