25 Days of Christmas Music!

Well, OK, so there is only 22 days left, but you can still get the FREE DOWNLOADS from the days you missed! Bigbandtacularswingaganza! If you like Christmas music and you are tired of the 17 or 18 that are played on the radio over and over, you must head over to Tannerworld Junction, the forum where-EVERYTHING-is-discussed created by Kidology’s Director of Web Operations. (AKA, if it works there first, try in on Kidology.org!) Be sure to say “I discovered you on Kidologist.com” so I can finally win one of Steve’s contests. (I’m still sore I didn’t win the Star Wars lego tie fighter!) Every day you will get a new Christmas song you’ve probably never heard before, and a chance to talk about it if you wish. (Yes, you can win something too!) And be sure to get the downloads from previous years that are only up this month! Over 9 hours of awesome Christmas music! So? What are you waiting for? GO ALREADY!

Hangin’ with Hindus Today

Where was I going when it started to snow? I was offered a last minute “gig” today by a fellow performer who was overbooked for today – and since my wife was making cookies all day with a friend, I decided to go ahead and do the gig and get a little extra Christmas spending money. I had no idea where I was going – just to take my balloons and go entertain kids for two hours. I took a box of magic and a puppet too, ready for anything. As soon as I pulled up to the banquet hall I knew I was heading into a very nice place… and that I was going to be in the minority. (A good experience, one of the interesting aspects of foreign missions – its good to be the one who is unlike everyone else once and awhile.) As soon as I entered the banquet room I could see this was no streamers, dixie cups, pot-luck and Kool-aid event! I’d never seen covered chairs like this before, and on the stage was a beautifully decorated bassinet. Here is the woman who hired me, and this little two month old baby was the…

It’s SNOWING!

I’m out driving and am so excited… It is snowing on December 1st! How beautiful is that? I hope it never stops. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! iKarl Bastian (Sent/Posted from my iPhone) UPDATE: OK, you wanted a picture – I can’t blog a picture from my iPhone remotely. (wish I could, if anyone knows how to do that with WordPress, let me know. I used to be able to do it on Blogger, one of the only cool features on Blogger) Anyway – it was just light snow when I posted this, and coming home was too dark, but I did snag this picture of the back of my car when I arrived (after seeing the comments): This is the sticker everyone at my church has on their car. (by the way, I never noticed the small print on it until today when the image was full screen in iPhoto – click to see why I said “uh oh” when I read the fine print!)

A Little Peace and Quiet

Silent Night… Holy Night… All is calm… Draw near to gaze… Come and Worship… Saints before the alter bending… Rejoice, with heart and soul and voice… O tidings of comfort and joy… this Holy tide of Christmas doth bring redeeming grace… the world in solemn stillness lay… O hush the noise, ye men of strife… O rest beside the weary road… How still we see thee lie… deep and dreamless sleep… Fall on your knees… the Spirit felt its worth… one seems to hear words of good cheer from everywhere filling the air… (all these words are from Christmas Carols) DO THESE PHRASES DESCRIBE YOUR CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION? December used to be the busiest month of the year for me. From church events to personal parties and performing at other people’s events to… I don’t know what all. But by News Years Day I was so exhausted “Peace on Earth” seemed a distant memory. This year I am slowing December down. My calendar is mostly empty and I will be keeping close to home and just relaxing and taking it much slower. We are planning to have a Christmas Hour every day where we do just a little something as a…

My Blog Readers always get the inside scoop! So you can be the first to know that I have written an Order of the Ancient Short Story called: Josiah and the Mysterious Child. (A Christmas Special!) I get lots of requests for “Book 2” – so this is my way to try and answer the calls for the further adventures of Brent Camdon. This 12 page mini-novelette will be released on Kidology.org as a PDF download early in December. (I will update this post when it is live) It is currently being reviewed by a few select readers (several are expert kids!) and edited… and will be available soon! The unedited teaser has been removed. The complete story is now available on Kidology.org: ORDER TODAY!
