Newest Mom on the Block!

Today is Mother’s Day – and it is a very special one, since it is my wife Sara’s FIRST Mother’s Day as a Mom! Now, a lot of people tease me because I put more pictures of me and Luke on my blog than I do of Sara and Luke…. Well, I could just say it’s my blog, and she can get her own blog if she wants to, but the truth is that first of all, there is an extensive approval process required for me to post pictures of Sara on my blog! Plus, many of pictures of Luke include me because Sara is a great photographer and is quicker at grabbin’ the camera. Though, I will admit, that another factor is that I do hog the kid a bit, so when we are both home, it is more common to see me with the baby than Sara since she gets him all day when I’m at work. (Unless, of course, there is a dirty diaper, then she will be more likely to be with him!) Anyway, since it is Mother’s Day, I will risk posting a few pictures of the newest mom in our home without prior approval…..…

A Christmas ADVENTure!

If like Christmas music, you will enjoy Steve Tanner’s 25 Days of Christmas music! Now in it’s 5th year, this DAILY FREE MUSIC feature of Kidology’s Director of Web Operations personal website, is a fun and educational way to get some new and sometimes unusual Christmas Music! We thought we had a decent Christmas music collection with nearly 250 songs, but have learned that Steve Tanner can boast over 2000 songs and 6 non-stop days of Christmas music! If you didn’t get a chance to go downtown and see the State Street Windows, Steve has also finished his third annual STATE STREET SHOWDOWN where he photographs – evaluates – and chooses a winner each year. His reviews have actual drawn the attention of the window creators… who an unrealiable source tells me they reportedly offer bribes now to get Steve to pick their window as the best! ENJOY THE MUSIC!

A Mad Scientist Party! (it runs in the family….)s

No, not being mad, but being creative. My neice, Tricia, just turned 8 and her birthday party (as usual) was one of the most creative I’ve been to. (see last year’s Western theme pics) My sister, Melissa (above), goes ‘all out’ and creates the most fun birthday parties for her kids. This year was no exception as Tricia chose a Mad Scientist theme. The best compliment I heard was when one dad at the event said, “This party is like the ones you see in movies and you think, ‘no one has parties like that’, but I’m at one!” Of course, I came and got into the spirit of things as the Wacky Professor Wipplestowski. I was in charge of the Sandy Candy lab. I actually didn’t get to see everything due to workin’ my lab, but the kids rotated through several labs doing really cool and fun experiments. Wonder what these kids are cookin’ up? Looks kinda GOOOEY to me! You gonna actually EAT that!?!?!?! Future food scientist in the making. (that’s what his dad does for a living!) (The Birthday Girl) I wouldn’t drink that if I was you! CAREFUL THERE BOY! You might blow up the house!…
