Finally, a PodCast for Luke!

sspodcast3.png

I don’t subscribe to many podcasts… not much time to listen to them, but I make time for my Ask a Ninja and Despair.com casts, but I do have several friends podcasts, some church sermons, etc. But today, I was excited to discover a PodCast for Luke! He already knows that my iPhone has YouTube, now we can watch Sesame Street together in a dull moment. (not that we have many of those!)

Your a V.I.P. to R.O.B.

Calling all friends and fans of Rob Biagi and his family. I have a V.I.P. for you today – Very Important Prayer request.

natalie-biagi.png

Rob’s little girl, Natalie has been diagnosed with Leukemia. The whole family needs your prayers.

This is being posted with Rob’s permission. Below is the e-mail that he sent out to his e-mail list, it is worded “kid-friendly” because they have a lot of kids on their e-mail list. In Rob’s words to me, “It’s Leukemia, so – though treatable, it’s absolutely brutal. Still, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah is fiercer!”

Rob Biagi wrote:

Please Pray for Little NatalieDear friends, family, fellow ministers, and customers,

(this email has been written in child-safe language – we have lots of children on our email list…)

Our 2 ½-year-old daughter Natalie was admitted to “CHOC” (a Children’s Hospital in Orange, California) a few days ago because her skin looked and felt very different than it usually does. The doctors at CHOC did lots of tests, and found out that Natalie is very sick. She doesn’t look really sick right now, and she doesn’t sound really sick, but her body has a very bad sickness growing in it. Little Natalie needs to stay in the hospital for almost 2 weeks and the doctors need to use some very powerful medicines to make her better. Then they need to have us bring her back to the hospital for special medicine lots and lots of times over the next 2 years (not to stay in the hospital then, just to get the medicine). Then we need to make sure the sickness doesn’t come back for years and years after that. The doctors tell us that Nat is responding well to the medicines so far, and that they are very confident that one day she will be cured, healthy, and READY TO GET BACK ONSTAGE DANCING with us!

Of course we were scared and sad when we heard the news, but we are remembering that God is MUCH bigger than any ol’ sickness, and He is wise… (Isaiah 28:29) In fact, we think that everyone in the world is going to see a miracle of God through Natalie Biagi’s sickness for the glory of His name! (Psalm 103: 1-5)

We would like it very much if all of you would pray for Natalie and us (Rob, Kathleen, Matt, and Juli too!). (James 5:16) Kathleen has stayed every day and night with Natalie in the hospital (so she needs good rest, good food, and good health), and I (Rob) have been spending time with Juli and Matt and going back and forth to the hospital. My back is still hurting, so please pray for my healing, too.

We have had many, many offers for “help,” meals and childcare from our friends and neighbors. There is much to be done, and we are so grateful for your love and prayers as we go through this difficult time together.

We love you all so much, and we are so glad to have been able to sing and dance and worship the Lord with you over the past 4 years, and we are going to keep doing our ministry as God leads us! Hopefully we will see you at a concert soon!

We know that some of you have had great sickness and/or sadness in your families, too. “God answers prayer three ways: ‘yes,’ ‘no,’ or ‘not today,’ right?! Sometimes bad things happen, and we don’t know why. But God does. He is in command, He is the LORD, and we are trusting in him! (“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding,” right?!)

The next 30 days are very, very important for little Natalie. We will do our best to email you information about how Natalie’s treatments are going, what to pray for, and how you might be able to help us if you want to. We are at the beginning of a very long, difficult road, but we are so glad to have tens-of-thousands of YOU alongside us in our God-given family!

with hope…
Rob, Kathleen, Matt, Juli and Natalie Biagi

GO CLIMB A ROCK!

I’m excited to let you know about a very unique opportunity for children’s pastors… it’s called Yosemite Summit.

May 18-22, 2008
Sunday to Thursday

The Unconference for Childrens Pastors

No Workshops – Just Worship
No Resources – Just Relationships
No Networking – Just God Working

www.yosemitesummit.org

Yosemite Summit is five day personal sabbatical for male children’s pastors located in the heart of one of the most spectacular National Parks in America. This refreshing summit of renewal is limited to only eight men who will be staying at a luxurious lodge inside Yosemite and only ten miles from the famously breathtaking Yosemite Valley.

Get away from the office, the church, the phones, the Internet, and the busyness of life and ministry and re-coop with some fellow ministers hiking, worshiping, and enjoying genuinely refreshing fellowship surrounded by vistas that only God could create.

This retreat will be a structured time of renewal that will provide both group and personal time of reflection, prayer, reading, and worship in a setting where God can truly be heard and experienced. Day hikes to some of the most stunning vistas in the world and evenings of rest and relaxation. (even a hot tub!)

Yosemite Summit is a ministry of Kidology.org which exists to equip and encourage those who minister to children. Kidology founder, Karl Bastian, will be your host – but the guest speaker will be Jesus Himself as each man allows this retreat to be a time and place where he can meet with God removed from the distractions and pressures of daily ministry life.

For more information, browse this site. Registration is limited to 7 men who will join Karl on this retreat. To register visit yosemitesummit.org and visit the registration page. After the seven spots are filled, there will be a waiting list in case there is an opening later on.

You are invited to the only children’s ministry conference where you will get absolutely no practical ideas or helpful resources for children’s ministry – but you will get help with the most important aspect of your ministry – your walk with God.
